Three weeks in, I don’t know how you can’t be pretty damn excited to be an Ole Miss Rebel.
It’s been a minute since we’ve been 3-0, ranked in the top 25, and had national coverage positively lauding the genius of our head coach. BUT it’s still early in the college football season, so I’m just letting it all soak in and enjoying it.
The Red Cup staff had a much better week in picks and predictions last week with three writers (Ruby, Zach and Gray) going 12-0 in the moneyline picks. And, of course, no surprise to anyone - ya boi still crushing the game in all facets and now ranked No. 4 nationally picking against the spread according to the good folks at Tallysight.
I’m not saying take out a second mortgage and bet all the money on my spread picks, but honestly, it’s probably safer than the S&P 500 amirite?
Now, moving on to picks and predictions for SEC week four...
The staff is damn near unanimous across the board on the moneyline - Georgia, Auburn, Kentucky, Florida, and Alabama to win on a parlay make it count. Our very numbers-savvy Will Gates is going against the grain with Mizzou, Boston College and Arkansas hoping to start digging out of the gigantic hole he is in this season.
Georgia is also an unanimous pick to cover the 35.5 points against Vanderbilt, so maybe throw that in the previously mentioned parlay.
I see Auburn covering against a pretty bad Georgia St. team, while TAMU, LSU, Mizzou and Kentucky take care of business in what should be potentially competitive games.
In the Bama-Southern Miss primetime game, I think the Tide may take its foot off the gas later in the game and sub some second and third stringers in during a 45-10 win. Additionally, I’m betting Florida has a Bama hangover and lets Tennessee stick around in a 31-17 kind of game.
