The USA TODAY and the Associated Press released their Top-25 polls this afternoon, and Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has to be happy to see the Rebels at no. 16 and No. 17 in the country respectively.
Ole Miss (2-0) throttled Austin Peay, 54-17, yesterday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium after being ranked 20th in both polls last week. The Rebels were playing on a shortened week after a 43-24 Labor Day win over Louisville.
The Week 2 AP poll is here

1. Alabama
2. Georgia
7. Texas A&M
11. Florida
17. Ole Miss
20. Arkansas
22. Auburn
The SEC is well represented in this week’s Top-25, which is shocking to no one. Ole Miss is one of seven conference members in the poll with Alabama and Georgia currently occupying the top two spots in the nation.
Just off the top of my head, this is the highest ranking Ole Miss has had since about 2014 or 2015, and it signals a resurging program under Kiffin who is in his second year as head coach.
The Rebels face Tulane (1-1) on Saturday in Oxford. The Green Wave nearly shocked No. 3 Oklahoma (2-0) in Norman earlier in the season and dominated Morgan State 69(nice)-20 in its only other game.
