Ole Miss is always looking for a way to add quality depth up front to combat the elite level front sevens in the Southeastern Conference. Lane Kiffin and his staff have made it a point to address the needs there in recruiting, on both sides of the ball, and they have now seen one domino fall.
South Carolina offensive lineman Jordan Rhodes announced on Monday that he would be transferring from the SEC East to the West, making his way to Oxford, Miss. Rhodes is eligible immediately to play in 2021 and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
The Fairburn, Ga. native appeared in 20 games for the Gamecocks over the last three seasons. In 2020, Rhodes opted out due to the COVID-19 pandemic but eventually opted back in and finished the season with USC.
The 6-foot-4, 335-pounder prepped at Creekside High School (Ga.) and chose South Carolina over offers from Cincinnati, Mississippi State, and Missouri among others.
Rhodes should immediately factor in to Jake Thornton’s offensive line rotation and give the Rebels experience and plenty of size at the guard position.
