After receiving commitments from Jacarius Clayton on Friday and Preston Cushman on Saturday, Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss kept their foot on the gas on Sunday, adding a verbal commitment from three-star Hastings (Tex.) offensive tackle Timi Gagophien.
The Lone Star prospect chose the Rebels over notable offers from Arkansas State, Buffalo, East Carolina, Houston, Tennessee and Western Kentucky. The newest member of the 2022 class received an offer from Ole Miss in March and was instantly interested. After talking with new offensive line coach Jake Thornton, it sealed the deal.

Gagophien is the 10th member of the recruiting class that has now jumped from the mid-80’s to 49th nationally, per Rivals team rankings, in a matter of three days.
How does he fit in?
The 6-foot-7, 290-pounder is an absolute monster. Plain and simple. As a right tackle at Alief Hastings, he routinely swallowed up opposing defenders when run-blocking downhill. He is agile enough to get out on pulls and pancake the first guy he sees AND climb to the second level after that to erase anyone else.
Gagophien’s frame is large enough to add at least 10-15 more pounds before he arrives in Oxford. After that, he will have ample time to get settled in the playbook and become acclimated to using his nimble feet in Kiffin and Jeff Lebby’s offense.
