NCAA FOOTBALL: OCT 29 Auburn at Ole Miss

As first reported by David Johnson of the Ole Miss Spirit, our son, will make his triumphant return to Oxford.

Johnson is reporting that Chad Kelly will be at Ole Miss’ 2021 Pro Day to throw for scouts. Catching passes from the former Rebel signal caller will be former Ole Miss receivers DaMarkus Lodge and Damore’ea Stringfellow.

Kelly was drafted by the Denver Broncos with the “Mr. Irrelevant” pick in the 2017 draft, playing in just one regular season NFL game over four years between Denver and Indianapolis.

Before he got to the NFL, Kelly set college football on fire in 2015. The Buffalo, N.Y. native threw for 4,042 yards and 31 touchdowns while also running for 509 yards and 10 touchdowns. Before an injury cut his 2016 campaign short, he threw for 2,758 yards and 19 touchdowns. Kelly was the MVP of the 2016 Sugar Bowl and is one of the most talented quarterbacks the Southeastern Conference has ever seen.

His 4,542 yards of total offense in 2015 are only bested by Johnny Manziel (twice). Even more insane, in just 22 games, Swag finished 32nd in SEC history in total offense (7,646) and 2nd in yards per play behind only Manziel.

ELITE.

Ole Miss’ Pro Day is set to begin at 12:45pm CST on Thursday and is closed to the public. Elijah Moore, Kenny Yeboah, Royce Newman, Jack Propst, Luke Logan and Jalen Julius are also set to workout for scouts. Moore, Yeboah and Newman will also be participating in the NFL’s virtual combine at the event.
