Ole Miss vs. Auburn 2021: Time, TV schedule and online streaming

Let’s rewrite history again.

NCAA Football: Louisiana State at Mississippi Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Ole Miss has returned from Auburn victorious only twice in the last 20 years, but the No. 10 Rebels and No. 18 Tigers are the marquee match-up in the SEC West today.

The Rebels (6-1, 3-1 SEC) have Heisman contender Matt Corral under center, and Ole Miss is looking for its first win on the Plains since 2015. The last two games between the Tigers and Rebels were settled by an average of 6.5 points, and I expect this game will be no different.

Auburn (5-2, 2-1 SEC) has already dropped one SEC home game to the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs earlier this season. The Tigers also struggled to put away Georgia St. (34-24) at Jordan-Hare Stadium, so the homefield advantage has maybe lost some of the “Jesus loves Auburn” magic Ole Miss has come to expect.

History is certainly on Auburn’s side as the War Eagle Tiger Plainsmen are 34-10 against Ole Miss all-time. What is incredibly absent from that statistic is that Ole Miss won five of the first seven meetings in this series so taking that into account the Tigers have won 32 of the last 37 games against the Rebels. Yikes.

But you know what? Take your sour ass bottled Milo’s tea, your 90’s boy band lookin’ ass quarterback, and the overrated nachos at Momma Goldberg’s and get ready for the first top 10 rated Ole Miss team in the last six years.

Lane Kiffin undoubtedly remembers an incredibly close game last year against Auburn where one missed call on a punt return seemingly swung the momentum in the game against Ole Miss. The Rebels lost 35-28, but it was a game Ole Miss absolutely could have won - and I think our tanned, fit, and offensive genius head coach knows that and doesn’t forget what it felt like to see the gaudy orange, blue and white of Auburn dance across our field.

Tee it up, let your buzzard fly and see who comes out on top.
