After much anxious waiting by us on the outside, Ole Miss baseball released its 2021 schedule on Tuesday, and today, we’re going to take a look at the non-SEC opponents on the Diamond Rebels’ slate.
You can see the full Ole Miss schedule in this conveniently-embedded tweet that I found on the internet.
The moment you've all been waiting for has arrived. The 2021 #RebsBSB schedule is here!

There’s also this tweet that tells us that the Governor’s Cup, a technically non-conference midweek matchup between Ole Miss and Mississippi State every year, will not be taking place in 2021.

Ole Miss opens its baseball season in Arlington, Texas, at the State Farm College Baseball Showdown followed by hosting Arkansas State in its home opener. In fact, after opening the season in Arlington, the Rebels are not on the road again until March 16-17 when they travel to Louisiana Tech. Between the tourney in Texas and the trip to Ruston, Ole Miss hosts UCF (cool), Memphis (per usual), Jackson State (bring the Sonic Boom pls), Belmont (not the Mississippi high school), Alcorn State (lit), and ULM (don’t bring Rich Rod. Or do and let Doug pitch to him).
Then, SEC play starts, which we will take a gander at later this week, and non-conference play is limited to midweek showdowns. Ole Miss plays host to Central Arkansas (bc why not?), North Alabama (lol pain), Southeast Missouri, the University of Arkansas (the one at Little Rock though), and Tennessee-Martin. The final non-conference meeting is in Jonesboro at Arkansas State. There are also a couple of TBA dates on the schedule, so those could be filled with non-conference games as well.
My opinion is that Ole Miss should host the Baltimore Orioles on those two dates. I’ve written to the baseball program about this proposal. So far, I haven’t heard back. I’ll keep y’all posted though.
Be sure to check back here at the local blog site throughout the week for more baseball content. We as a staff are excited since no other Ole Miss sport is currently happening at this time no we’re not in denial hahahaha pls send help.
