The Rebels are fresh off a sweep of Princeton, moving their overall record to 14-1, and winning their 12th, 13th, and 14th games of the season. They now put the streak on the line at the home of the Warhawks of Louisiana-Monroe (12-3). The Sun Belt representative hasn;t really played anyone worth a damn this season, but nevertheless, it’s a road trip to a top-50 RPI team.
Mike Bianco announced that he will throw Benji Gilbert and Jackson Kimbrell Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, getting the young pups some work on the road in a semi-high leverage environment. The freshmen will do battle with a Warhawks team that is hitting .316 as a club through 15 games. They’re slugging .483, sport a .445 on-base percentage, and have already stolen 36 bases.

Ryan Humeniuk (.410), Andrew Beesley (.400), and Grant Schulz (.385) lead the way at the dish for ULM. They have combined for just five home runs but they have driven in 35 runs as a trio. Warhawk hurler Tyler Lien has been their Tuesday arm so far this season, pitching against Southeast Louisiana and Jackson State and winning both games.
The Rebels will not only look to win their 15th game in a row, but they are ultimately trying to get everyone at-bats, relief pitchers innings on the mound, and to stay healthy ahead of their conference opener against LSU on Friday.
