The Ole Miss Rebel basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 68-54 win over Central Arkansas. Devontae Shuler continued to show significant improvement, finishing with 20 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. This is his third-straight game with at least 18 points on the young season.

Samford Transfer forward Robert Allen also chipped in 12 points, good enough for a season-high.

Former Ole Miss player Anthony Boone returned back to Oxford, but this time as the Central Arkansas head coach. When team introductions were done prior to the game, Boone received a standing ovation. During his time as a Rebel, he played as well as coached from 1994-2000. His jersey was retired in 1998 which, at the time, he joined Archie Manning as the only two jerseys retired in Ole Miss history.

On the other side of the ball, Ole Miss was able to rack up 27 defensive rebounds and 22 recovered turnovers. With the Justin Reed Classic canceled, there was a lot of rescheduling of these games in order to get the Rebels enough game reps before SEC play begins. The Rebels will now play four games in a seven-day span.

Throughout the off-season, head coach Kermit Davis has emphasized that this teams greatest strength is their depth. With 12 different players getting time on the court against Central Arkansas, it has provided a lot of hope for whatever this 2020 season will bring.

Luis Rodriguez joined Shuler and Allen in double figures with 12, Arizona State transfer added nine points and nine rebounds, and KJ Buffen finished with six points.
