Here’s the latest bowl projections for Ole Miss heading into Week 11

2020 bowl games might be the wildest ever.

Ole Miss football sits at 2-4 for the shortened Southeastern Conference only season, but a bowl game seems to be in its future.

Yes, every Football Bowl Subdivision team is eligible for bowl games this year, so it’s likely bowl committees will want to take advantage of large fanbases despite its record. All bets are off in terms of what we as fans normally expect from bowls.

So the Cup has compiled the bowl projections from several national sources, and we’ll begin tracking this weekly as the season hurtles on to completion. Personally, I am up for any bowl game anywhere after a few seasons of no postseason due to high crimes and flipping a middle finger at the NCAA’s prison staff.

ESPN

The worldwide leader has Ole Miss taking on the California Golden Bears in the Las Vegas Bowl or Ole Miss and Georgia Tech facing off in the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa, Fla.

I don’t want anything to do with Cal after playing them twice, but a trip to Vegas always seems like a good/terrible idea. Also, Tampa in the winter would clearly be a better option.

CBS

The fightin’ Jim Nances(?) also put Ole Miss in the Las Vegas Bowl though they predict a game against the Washington Huskies. They have a great mascot, very good boy.

The Rebels and Huskies have never faced off before so this could be an exciting clash of fanbases out west. Again...it’s Vegas, I’d want to see Ole Miss vs. Hoover High School in a game there.

USA Today

These jerks didn’t pick Ole Miss to go to a bowl game just yet, so keep sleeping on Lane Kiffin, Gannett losers.

Bleacher Report

Ole Miss and Memphis in the Birmingham Bowl would be kind of depressing until you realize all of the great places to eat in Magic City. I personally love the rivalry with Memphis though I know most Rebel fans do not. The last bowl game there was a pretty fun time.

If I’m remembering correctly, slamming Bud Light tall boys in the snow in January — YES IT IS VERY FUN.

So there’s obviously some opportunity for Ole Miss to win a few more games and improve its position for the postseason. There’s also a chance the Las Vegas Bowl may not even happen given its Pac-12 tie-in and how that conference has been suspect at best in letting teams play in this pandemic.
