Red Cup SEC Betting Guide: Week three challenges the Rebel defense and then some

Take us back to 2015, Landshark Defense.

Week two of the meat grinder of nothing but Southeastern Conference football came and went with a couple surprises.

Ole Miss overcame a touchdown underdog status on the road and upset Kentucky. Mississippi State, fresh off an upset of top ten LSU, couldn’t keep its momentum going against Arkansas who won its first SEC game in 20 tries.

Georgia dismantled Auburn in primetime while Alabama ran Texas A&M off the field in a four score blow-out. Our beleaguered staff had a few picks against the spread that didn’t hit with three of us now sitting at 8-6 on the season.

Juco All American leads the way right now, relying mostly on picking favorites though this week he stepped out and picked Tennessee to beat the +12.5 spread against Georgia and Arkansas to cover two touchdowns against Auburn. Will his reign of terror come to an end?

When it came to picking the Ole Miss and Alabama game, it was a landslide for the Tide according to our staff. Seven out of eight of us chose Bama to win with our current Ole Miss student staff member Ruby showing us what being a Rebel really means and selecting the upset today.

Confidence in the Rebels isn’t completely lost, however, as five of the eight pickers selected Ole Miss to beat the +23.5 line against the Tide. One thing to keep in perspective today is last season’s Bama/Ole Miss game ended at 59-31 with a 28-point win for the Tide — the Rebels keeping it to less than 24 is a small step in the right direction.

Now, here’s our complete table of picks for you to run to a casino and blow your nest egg!

Where did we go wrong? Should we be tarred and feathered for not picking Ole Miss every week? Comment below or tweet @redcuprebellion with your upset picks this week and show us how its done.
