After receiving the good news that three-star signee Sammy Hunter had passed his summer courses and was now eligible to enroll at the University of Mississippi, head coach Kermit Davis and the Ole Miss basketball program got some good news for the 2019 class.
Three-star 2020 commit Shon Robinson has decided to reclassify and will now be enrolling this year, joining the star-studded 2019 class on campus, per Rebel Grove’s Neal McCready. The Gilbert, Ariz. native committed to the Rebels back in April over notable offers from Florida, Syracuse, UNLV, Wisconsin, and Xavier among others and is now going to be a Rebel a year earlier than expected.

The 6’10, 210-pounder is just another skilled big man for Davis’ front court that now appears to be a strength as opposed to a weakness. During the 2018-2019 season, Ole Miss struggled mightily in the post of both ends of the court but now appear poised to be quite familiar with high-percentage shots in the post and protecting the rim on the other end.
Robinson, the no. 159 player overall nationally, is a long and athletic wing who can really get up and down the floor with ease. He has a nice handle, can shoot it from the outside, and with some added strength and weight will be a force on the elbow with a face-up game and back to the basket.
