3-star DB Lakevias Daniel commits to Ole Miss

Rebs add another from Jones County.

Lakevias Daniel-Hudl

And just like that, Ole Miss adds ANOTHER commitment. On the heels of three-star strong-side defensive end Luke Shouse committing to the Rebs Lakevias Daniel, a three-star cornerback from Jones County Junior College, has joined the fold with his verbal commitment.

The defensive back played minimal snaps last year on a JCJC team that had a loaded secondary full of Power 5 signees, but the Louisville, Miss. native is an explosive athlete, that’s for sure. Over the weekend at Ole Miss’ Elite Camp at the Manning Center, he reportedly ran a 4.44 forty-yard dash, a 4.27 shuttle, and jumped 38-inches.

The newest Rebel commit has just now come onto the recruiting scene and is starting to make the rounds. Ole Miss is his only Power 5 offer currently. As a senior at Louisville, he made 33 tackles and defended five passes while not being tested too often.

How does he fit in?

As I alluded to above, the 6’0, 165-pounder can really fly and has an impressive vertical. He will be a starting cornerback this year for former Ole Miss staffer-turned JCJC assistant Barney Farrar and will be counted on to use that athleticism and speed to hold down the third level for the Bobcats.

He will also, like Shouse, benefit from a year with Paul Jackson in the Ole Miss strength and conditioning program.
