3-star OL Robert Scott commits to Ole Miss over Arkansas

Take that, Hogs!

After three commits on Sunday and Kahlil Benson making the call Monday evening, Ole Miss is adding yet another commit to the 2020 class with the addition of Robert Scott. The three-star offensive tackle from Conway, Ark. chose the Rebels over a bevy of offers Monday night and is offensive line coach Jack Bicknell’s third commit in this class.

The nation’s No. 54 tackle prospect out of the Natural State is Bicknell’s second tackle commitment from SEC West enemy territory going back to the 2019 class when the Rebels signed four-star tackle Darius Thomas.

Scott, the No. 5 overall prospect from Arkansas, picked Ole Miss over notable offers from Arkansas, Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, TCU, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt among others.

Scott plays his prep ball for the Wampus Cats(!) and helped lead them to a 10-3 season in 2018, anchoring an offensive line that pounded it out on the ground (236 yards per game).

How does he fit in?

The 6’6, 295-pounder is a damn menace in the run game. He gets upfield extremely well, working to the second level, and plays with a mean streak. In pass protection, his sets are impressive and he moves laterally well, pulling and reaching on defensive ends rushing upfield. Scott, along with Acker and Benson, is just another commitment in the 2020 class who is long, athletic, and possesses excellent feet. Bicknell is really hitting the recruiting trail after signing seven linemen in 2019.
