SEC Baseball Tournament 2019: Bracket, schedule, scores, and TV info

It was a big lead and then it wasn’t.

After building a 7-0 lead then a 9-1 lead then a 9-3 lead then a 9-5 lead then a 9-8 lead, the deep roster of the Vanderbilt Commodores eventually wore down the battered, beaten, and exhausted Rebels, winning 11-10 in walk-off fashion.

Ole Miss (37-25) heads home with almost a certain two-seed in their back pocket after fighting out of the loser’s bracket and getting to Sunday in Hoover, Ala. in the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

Sure, it sucks to blow a seven-run lead but no shame in losing to the No. 1 overall seed and most talented team in the country. After a ridiculous first inning where the Rebels built a huge lead, the Commodores chipped away the next eight innings and eventually drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 9th off the first pitch from utility player Ryan Olenek.

Now, the attention turns to Selection Monday where we will find out where the Rebels will be playing baseball next weekend. Will it be in Oxford? Will it be elsewhere? My money ison elsewhere. And that’s fine, to be honest. The Rebels seem to thrive in road scenarios where the chips are stacked against them and it’s them versus the world.

And for all you people claiming this as “WAOM”, spare me. The fellas just played six games in six days and went toe-to-toe with arguably the nation’s best team.

We’ll see where they’re headed tomorrow.
