Ole Miss has its first 2021 commit.

Widout Brandon Buckhaulter, a Jackson, Miss. native, made his pledge during an unofficial visit to Oxford over the weekend.

“I just felt home again,” Buckhaulter told the Ole Miss Spirit’s David Johnson. “It’s always been that way. I felt at home today, and I knew I might do it, if I felt at home again today. [Wide receivers] Coach [Jacob] Peeler and Coach [Matt] Luke made me feel at home again.

“Coach Peeler and Coach Luke were very, very, very excited when I told them.

Buckhaulter prospect has an early offer from Mississippi State and has received early interest from Alabama, Auburn and LSU. He hasn’t yet received a rating, but don’t be surprised if he’s a four-star.

He’ll hope to follow in the footsteps of A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf and Damarkus Lodge, who will almost certainly go in the early rounds of the 2019 NFL Draft.

“Ole Miss’ wide receivers are incredible,” he said. “A.J. Brown... is one of my role models that I look up to.”

The 6’3, 190-pounder is a phenomenal athlete and should be the next in line to build the nWo brand. Even though he’s just entering his junior year in the high school ranks, he’s already demonstrated the ability to run sharp routes and get upfield against would-be tacklers.
