Here’s a 1st look at Ole Miss’ white helmets

You gotta get a load of these things.

This is not a drill. This is an actual, real emergency alert.

Rumblings and rumors flit about for months regarding Ole Miss football’s choice of wardrobe for the 2018 season opener against Texas Tech in Houston, and now we finally have visual confirmation that the Rebels will indeed be sporting white helmets.

WHITE HATS. FIRST. TIME. EVER. Just look at these babies.

My oh my oh my.

Sartorial decisions such as these — especially for a big Week 1 matchup against rocket shop Texas Tech at a neutral site — are commonplace enough, and Ole Miss’ recent return to the powder blue helmet for big-time, primetime games marks yet another foray into the field of novel uniform updates. The intended excitement here is first geared toward the players, who always feel more hyped when given new equipment.

Second after the players are the fans’ response to uniform novelty, and these flashy caps are going to dazzle under the lights of Houston’s NRG Stadium. These are some good looking helmets.
