Ole Miss baseball climbs to No. 3 in latest D1Baseball top 25 poll

With 25 wins, these Diamond Rebs may be on to something.

It’s Monday, which means it’s time for D1Baseball’s latest round of top 25 rankings. After going 3-1 last week and taking a conference series from No. 5 Arkansas over the weekend, Ole Miss finds itself in the happy position of No. 3 nationally. That seems pretty good.

Notably, the Rebs leapfrogged previous top dog Oregon State, following in tow with No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Stanford. The Beavers were probative favorites to win it all heading into last year’s College World Series, and their pitching staff appeared set to carry them along this year as well. Oregon State’s still a quality club, so Ole Miss’ climb up the ladder really has Kendall Rogers and Aaron Fitt feeling high on these Rebels.

Florida, which started the season ranked No. 1 then fell to No. 2 for a time is once again back in first, while Arkansas’ weekend series loss in Oxford has the Hogs holding steady at No. 5. Texas Tech and NC State both jumped up two spots, while Kentucky fell from No. 6 to No. 9 after going 2-2 last week.

Not to jinx it, but is it too early to start talking about a national seed?
