Well, that sucked, but it’s fine. The Rebs might have fallen out of the top 10 (11th in D1Baseball’s poll) but the rest of the season and chance to be a national seed is still out in front of the fellas. Every single series from here on out is extremely winnable and the two road series aren’t impossible to navigate.
Take care of business in your midweek games against lower than average competition and then win every series and you’re looking at 43-13 (18-12), which would be a very nice resume for the NCAA selection committee to consider as a top eight resume.
But, until that time comes, the Rebs need to just keep swinging and keep working to shore up the once fiery and lights out bullpen that we all know and love. Here’s to hoping the Gas Tank returns to form in the coming weeks.
- Is Ryan Olenek making a run at SEC Player of the Year?
- Could Will Ethridge be an answer as a starter?
- Should Brady Feigl go back to the bullpen to solidify the back end?
- Do you think Max Cioffi is ready for the big-time?
- Will Dallas Woolfolk and Will Stokes return to form?
The Rebs will host Georgia next week and you need some meat. So get on over to LB’s Meat Market, the official sponsor of this here podcast, and get the best protein for your Ole Miss baseball and softball grilling needs. Also, speaking of softball, the BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW food truck will be in left field ALL SEASON LONG!
And if you like gambling and good food, head down south to Biloxi after this weekend’s series to Harrah’s Gulf Coast for some blackjack, slots, and good Southern cooking from our good friend, Kelly English, at the Magnolia House. What’s not to like? Winning money, drinking, indoor/outdoor sports bar, STARBUCKS, and our pal Kelly whipping stuff up in a crock pot probably. Go down to the Coast and tell em Red Cup sent ya!
