Another week of non-conference play and another week of memories being made for national title winners. Before we get into that, let’t talk rankings. Heading into conference play, the Southeastern Conference is loaded, yet again.
Shocking, I know.
Here is where the folks sit after four weeks in D1Baseball’s Top 25.
- No. 2 Florida (15-3)
- No. 4 Kentucky (14-3)
- No. 5 Arkansas (11-4)
- No. 8 Ole Miss (15-1) — SUPPPP!!,,
- No. 9 Texas A&M (16-1)
- No. 13 Vanderbilt (12-4)
- No. 15 Auburn (15-1)
- No. 19 Mississippi State (10-6)
- No. 20 LSU (11-6)
“Sheesh” is right.
The Good
This week we split the highest award. The Aggies welcomed in the Long Beach State Dirtbags and politely skinned them alive. Despite an upset win over Vanderbilt on Wednesday, they were absolutely dominated in College Station. The Dirtbags lost by a combined score of 27-3. And for a team that is fighting through injuries practically everywhere, that just plain sucks.

Over in California, those same Commodores who dropped a midweek contest to Long Beach State responded in a big way at the Dodgertown Classic, beating two ranked teams. Tim Corbin’s club enjoyed the Los Angeles sun and wins over No. 17 UCLA and No. 11 TCU. For a team that is still sort of finding its way and identity, this was a big weekend for the Dores.
The Bad
The defending national champion Florida Gators swept Rhode Island over the weekend but not before getting swept themselves in the midweek. No, it wasn’t Scott Frost and Shaq Griffin, but the Golden Knights marched into Gainesville and took two from Kevin O’Sullivan’s club.
5-0 on the week.

Winning streak up to 12 games.
Check out what we had to say after a pretty big week pic.twitter.com/u60wpQjOOd
Granted UCF is no slouch, they’re now ranked 23rd per D1Baseball and 13-3 on the year, but the Gators are the Gators. And losing two midweek games to an AAC school is unacceptable. But, ya know, midweek gonna midweek.
The Ugly
LSU lost to Hawaii on Friday (they back-ended the series, but still).
Lol.
Other SEC baseball results from the week
Alabama - 3-1
Arkansas - 2-1
Auburn - 3-1
Georgia - 4-0
