Nick Fortes launched two dingers and Dallas Woolfolk took a few minutes off the end of our collective lives Tuesday in a 8-6 win over the visiting Memphis Tigers, securing that there will be no sweep whatsoever this season.
It wasn’t a pretty win, but a win, much like a Cook Out tray, is pretty much great any time though moreso when you’ve had a few cold beers. The Tigers cobbled together six runs behind 13 hits and a wild pitch certainly was helpful for the overwhelmed yet scrappy Memphis squad.
Fortes’ first two at-bats were ideal to say the least tallying five runs batted in and two home runs to pad an early Rebel lead.
Here’s the first bomb.
More of a moonshot home run than a line drive for Fortes. Either way, he got all of it, and #RebsBSB has a 2-0 lead. pic.twitter.com/K2PJigsUNu

And here’s the second.
Have a day, Nick Fortes. His second home run in as many at-bats gives #RebsBSB a 6-0 lead. Fortes has five RBI through three innings. pic.twitter.com/8RyziDF3yS

Ole Miss starting pitcher Houston Roth threw up three zeroes in the first three frames before running into trouble in the fourth.
Sophomore short stop Grae Kessinger played like a man possessed in the batter’s box going 4-for-5, snubbing his nose at the haters who say he has no place at the lead off position.

Most importantly, it was dollar hot dog night. Let’s give it up to Germany for creating the best sandwich option for our national pastime of pastoral pleasantry.
The Rebels’ record now stands at 4-0 while the Tigers drop to 2-2 on the young season. Ole Miss will be in action again this weekend against Tulane.
