Marquis Haynes participated in 2018’s Senior Bowl on Saturday, in support of his decision to enter the NFL draft this coming April. The showcase allows players with perhaps not so high profiles to offer NFL scouts another look at their stuff in a live, competitive setting, over and above speed and strength drills at the NFL Combine or on-campus open workouts.
Here’s Haynes ghosting his blocker around the strong side edge and promptly bashing the North team’s quarterback into the earth, generating a fumble that’s returned for six points by fellow defensive end Marcus Davenport.

Davenport is the career record holder at UTSA for tackles for loss, sacks, and quarterback hurries. Here he shows off his hands coordination for the scoop and score following Haynes’ tremendous sack. It appears he and Haynes became good buddies in the end zone following this play.
Let’s also pause to appreciate that Ole Miss allowed Haynes to wear the throwback powder blue helmet with the number on it for his Senior Bowl appearance. Very nice.
