Ole Miss linebackers and special teams coach Bradley Dale Peveto has abandoned his post in Oxford to take a similar position at Texas A&M on Jimbo Fisher’s brand-spanking new staff in College Station, per David Johnson of 247Sports.

According to Johnson, Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke said he already has “three or four” candidates to replace the departed BDP and that he hopes to have someone fill the vacancy by next week. Who those candidates are remains to be seen and should trickle out by the end of the weekend and into the beginning of next week.

Peveto was hired around this time in 2016 and was a part of Wesley McGriff’s first defense upon his return to Oxford. The linebackers weren’t great but he got the absolute most out of seniors Demarquis Gates and Tayler Polk and helped instill somewhat of a new identity, poor numbers or not.

He coached the Ole Miss linebackers for one season and played a crucial role in the Rebels signing of three-star Jacquez Jones and JUCO All-American Vernon Dasher in the 2018 class.
