Ole Miss vs. Virginia Tech basketball 2017: Time, TV schedule, and online streaming

The Rebs and Hokies face off for the second year in a row.

NCAA Basketball: Iowa at Virginia Tech Michael Shroyer-USA TODAY Sports

Ole Miss hoops has but two losses on the young season, the first to tournament team Utah and the second to squirrelly South Dakota State. At 4-2, the Rebs haven’t really picked off an out-of-conference foe that could boost them into the NCAA tournament yet, but there are still plenty of opportunities on the schedule, including Saturday’s bout with Virginia Tech in The Pavilion.

In last year’s edition of this matchup in Richmond, the Basketsharks held on late only to fall, 80-75, to a Hokies club that would go on to lose in the Big Dance first round to Wisconsin. Virginia Tech owns one loss on the season thus far — a 77-71 fail to a perennially decent St. Louis club — and they further have notable wins over Washington and Iowa. Both of those victories came at home.

It’s difficult to glean a tale of the tape this early in the season’s proceedings, so we’ll forego that here. What we will say is that Virginia Tech is currently KenPom’s No. 38 ranked team, while Ole Miss sits down at No. 61. The Rebs certainly have their work cut out for them on Saturday afternoon.

Here’s the advanced stats box, and below that all you need to know to watch the hoopsmen in action on Saturday afternoon.
