RCR pick 'em is back and stronger than ever! We're a little late getting started this season, but we're finally here to give you our best hunch on how this weekend's slate of games will go. We will be picking against the spread from the Vegas Insider composite and tracking our record throughout the season. The Cupper with the best winning record at the end of the season will be hailed and lauded as the wisest Cupper of them all. There might even be a certificate involved!
Without further adieu, here are the picks:
As for the most titillating game for most perusers of this here webbed site, the crew is relatively split on whether or not the Ole Piss Racist Bears will be able to stay within 10 points of the juggernaut dynasty that is the Crimson Tide of Alabama. Maybe the super secret surprise triple revenge game notion is too much for Hugh Freeze's squad to overcome? Can Alabama's true frosh QB prove his moxie on his first road test? #believe
We are also split on whether or not the inept offense and play calling of LSU can realistically beat the Bulldogs in Death Valley (AT NIGHT!!!) by more than 16 points. I've got a feeling that LSU will reignite it's title chances under the helm of a new QB and a drumming of MSU in Baton Rouge.
In what is quickly becoming known as the Hot Seat Bowl, the RCR crew can't believe that a seemingly lackadaisical Auburn offense is actually FAVORED against an Aggie team that is riding high off its opening victory against UCLA. Sure, the game is down in the Plains but both of these teams looked a bit shaky in their games against legitimate competition. I'm not sure of the over/under line, but bet the over.
Everyone is all in on the Buckeyes to cover against the Boomer Sooners and the Longhorns to roll Cal-Berkely by at least eight points. Other overwhelming picks are on Miami to take it to the scrappy Appalachian State Mountaineers, the Stanford Cardinal over USC and Florida State over Louisville. While a lot of the picks seem cut and dry, the beauty of college football is that, as we saw last week during a seemingly boring Week 2, most of a weekend's games rarely play out how we expect.
What say you on these crazy spreads and our picks? What are you favorite SCORCHING HOT TAKES coming into this weekend? Happy football y'all! Hotty Toddy.
