The Associated Press just dropped its preseason top 25 poll, which ranks Ole Miss as the 11th best team in the country. Despite that lofty number, the Rebs place fourth in the SEC and third in their own division behind No. 1 Bama, No. 5 LSU and No. 9 Tennessee.

(SB Nation’s Bill C., for what it’s worth, ranks Ole Miss ahead of Tennessee at No. 3 in the conference. You can check out his projected win numbers here.)

Florida State, which Ole Miss faces is in the season opener on Sept. 5, pulls in at No. 4. Throw in No. 18 Georgia and four of the Rebels’ 12 2016 opponents are ranked in the preseason poll. Ole Miss will face three of those (FSU, Bama and Georgia) in its first four games.

The sixth SEC team in the rankings is Florida, which snuck in at No. 25. The Pac-12 ranks second among Power 5 conferences with five teams, with the ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 tying with four apiece.
