UAPB vs. Ole Miss baseball 2016: Online streaming, radio and preview

The Rebs look to continue their winning ways in the midweek as they take on the Golden Lions from the Natural State.

After a tough midweek loss in the Governor's Cup to Mississippi State, the Rebels bounced back to take two from the LSU last weekend. They'll look to continue the positive momentum on Wednesday night against Arkansas Pine-Bluff. Mike Bianco's club is 10-2 this year in midweek contests and they would certainly like to win No. 11 against the visiting Golden Lions.

The Rebs hit .310 and notched 15 runs in the two wins over LSU. They jumped out to early leads in both contests and improved to 17-2 in games when they score first. J.B. Woodman, who was named the National Hitter of the Week AND SEC Player of the Week, hit .500 and slapped three dingers over the weekend. He set the pace for Tate Blackman (reached base in 30 of the last 31 games), Colby Bortles (dinger on Sunday) and Errol Robinson (10-game hitting streak) to have big weekends as well.

The starters weren't sharp but the bullpen looked to be back to form. Wyatt Short collected his 20th career save, Brady Feigl collected a win after tossing several scoreless frames, Andy Pagnozzi got his team-leading seventh win of the season and Will Stokes was his usual, lights-out self. If the bats and bullpen are heating up, Ole Miss could be on its way to earning a host spot.

The same can't be said for UAPB, which is is 13-5 in SWAC play but 17-21 overall. The Golden Lions have struggled against better competition this season. In games against TCU, Missouri and Memphis, UAPB was outscored 25-8. Despite their poor record, the Lions have won 11 of their last 15 and sit atop of the SWAC Western Division. Pine-Bluff's midweek starter, Humberto Medina, has struck out a conference-best 76 batters in 55.2 IP and will do his damnedest to silence the Rebel lineup.
