NCAA Baseball Tournament 2016: Schedule for the Oxford regional

Go ahead and make plans to spend the weekend watching baseball.

Ole Miss baseball is hosting a regional this weekend during the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, which means you need to cancel whatever lame ass plans you had and reroute yourself to a folding chair at Swayze. We've put together a quick look at the schedule to help you out with that.

First, let's run through the basics of how a regional works. Three teams—Tulane, Boston College and Utah—will join the Rebs in Oxford to play a four-team, double-elminitation mini-tournament, the winner of which moves on to the second round. The weekend will start on Friday with one-seed Ole Miss playing four-seed Utah and two-seed Tulane matching up against three-seed BC. The winners of those games then face off on Saturday, while the losers play an elimination game. That'll continue until there's one team standing, which could be as early as Sunday or as late as Monday.

Here's the schedule:

All times Central

Friday, June 3

Game 1: Tulane vs. Boston College (3 p.m.)

Game 2: Ole Miss vs. Utah (7 p.m.)

Saturday, June 4

Game 3: loser of Game 1 vs. loser of Game 2 (1 p.m.)

Game 4: winner of Game 1 vs. winner of Game 2 (5 p.m.)

Sunday, June 5

Game 5: winner of Game 3 vs. loser of Game 4 (1 p.m.)

Game 6: winner of Game 4 vs. winner of Game 5 (5 p.m.)

Monday, June 6

Game 7 (if necessary): rematch of Game 6

It's worth noting that the game times from Saturday on are apparently subject to change.
