College baseball composite top 25, Week 11: Texas Tech takes control of the Big 12

The Red Raiders knocked off TCU over the weekend, climbing to No. 11 in this week's rankings.

The Big 12 has been a funny scene this season with national names like Texas and TCU playing second fiddle to the supreme ruler of the conference: Texas Tech. Tim Tadlock's ball club enjoyed a 3-1 week and took a pivotal series in Ft. Worth, along with the first place spot in the conference.

The Red Raiders now sit at No. 11 and have a two game lead over Oklahoma State and are looking poised for another postseason run and national seed. Tadlock's squad already has a series win over the second place Cowboys and finishes the season with a relatively easy slate (Kansas and West Virginia are both below .500 in the conference). D1 Baseball's last NCAA Tournament projections have the Red Raiders pegged as a national seed. They're looking more and more like it every weekend.

Just in front of the Rebels sits Louisville, who has been lurking in the shadows since an early season series loss in Oxford. Dan McDonnell's club seems to like the friendly confines of Jim Patterson Stadium a lot better as they are now 28-1 at home. They defeated Florida International in the midweek, swept St. John's over the weekend and now sit at 35-9 overall.

The team sandwiched between the Masked Riders and the Cardinals, Ole Miss, moved up just one spot to No. 10 after taking two from No. 18 LSU at home, while Southern Miss dropped to No. 22 after losing a tough series to No. 20 Florida Atlantic. With USM slipping a bit and Louisville heating up just in time to boost Ole Miss' resume, barring a late season collapse, postseason ball at Swayze Field is looking more and more likely.

Note: RPI does not factor into the composite top 25 rankings. It's just there for reference.
