Chad Kelly is out for the season. Where does Ole Miss go from here?

The Rebels confirmed Sunday night that their star QB will undergo season-ending knee surgery, leaving an already struggling team in dire straits.

Ole Miss was already having an unexpectedly tough season, what with the whole 4-5 start instead of competing for the SEC West as expected. The defense is a mess, the O-line is in tatters and the running game has been hit or miss (mostly miss as of late). The one thing the Rebels had going for them was a passing game that could hang points on anyone in the country, Bama included.

But Ole Miss' Sunday night announcement that Chad Kelly is done for the season with a torn ACL and meniscus changes everything. The Rebels have to win two of their last three games against Texas A&M, Vandy and Mississippi State just to get bowl eligible, a task that will be an uphill battle without Kelly. Ole Miss now has to choose between Jason Pellerin, a former three-star who's thrown just 13 passes in his career, and true freshman Shea Patterson, who was scheduled for a redshirt season.
