COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME OPEN THREAD

LET'S CUSS AT ALABAMA AND CLIMPSON Y'ALL

Erich Schlegel-USA TODAY Sports

It's been four-and-a-half months and fourteen football games in the making, and it's finally here. The College Football Championship game is tonight, meaning that we only have a few short hours until the vast, unforgiving expanse that is the offseason begins. This year's contest, the second since the inception of the college football playoffs, pits the Alabama "Lost to Ole Miss" Crimson Tide against the Clemson "stop comparing us to Florida State" Tigers, in a contest that is sure to dazzle and amaze be pretty boring while Alabama plods along to a 31-10 victory. Even if you have nary a rooting interest, and even if the outcome is insignificant to you, you know you will be joining us here to say farewell to this season's iteration of the greatest sport humanity has ever devised.

The open thread is here and now. Join in, and wish the 2015-16 college football season the proper goodbye it deserves.
