As most of us expected, Laremy Tunsil will miss a second consecutive game. Hugh Freeze confirmed to ESPN on Saturday morning that his star left tackle will be held out against Fresno State as the NCAA continues to snoop around.
Of course, it's not as if Tunsil's absence against a team that the Rebs are expected to beat by 30. But there's growing anxiety that he won't be on the field for next Saturday's trip to Tuscaloosa. Some have it that Hugh Freeze has cut a deal with the compliance folks to hold his star left tackle out for the first two games and play him against Bama. Other folks have Tunsil staying on the sideline or four games. Honestly, it doesn't seem like anyone knows what the hell is going on.
As for a contingency plan, expect right tackle Fahn Cooper to swing to the left side to fill in for Tunsil. The bigger question is who replaces Cooper: redshirt freshman Sean Rawlings or starting center Robert Conyers? It was Rawlings last week, but does Freeze really want him making his first SEC start on the road in Tuscaloosa next week? If it's Conyers, Ben Still will plug back into center, where he started all of last season.
