4-star Leo Lewis decommits from Ole Miss, per report

It looks like Lewis is down to LSU or Mississippi State.

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Four-star linebacker prospect Leo Lewis decommitted from Ole Miss while in Baton Rouge visiting LSU this weekend, according to Demetric Warren of Varsity Preps.

To make things worse/hilarious, Lewis' primary recruiter is none other than the Hummer superfan himself, Ed Orgeron. Also along for the ride is former Rebel coach/crootin coordinator/running backs coach Frank Wilson. The two have evidently persuaded Leo to rethink his college destination and the young man from Brookhaven, Miss. is apparently listening.

Although an actual interview on his decision was never conducted to the public's knowledge, the 6'3, 225-pound No. 1 inside linebacker did in fact retweet Demetric Warren's original tweet. Also, to make things even more strange, no one else reported the decommitment, they just reported on Warren reporting it. Does that imply it did in fact happen and he is now considering heading down to Louisiana to don the purple and gold? It's anyone's guess at this time.

Looking at this tweet, which Lewis sent on Sunday afternoon, it would appear he's deciding between LSU and Mississippi State.

If you ask me, there really is no way to tell what is going on with Lewis' recruitment. He has been notorious for being very quiet and reserved throughout the process despite his unique cycle. In case you missed it, Lewis originally committed to Alabama, then decommitted, committed to Ole Miss and now decommitted again.

One can only imagine that Orgeron would love nothing more than to steal one of Ole Miss' most-prized croots and bolster the LSU defense for the future. Will this happen? I have no clue. But I do know one thing: the next three days are gonna get real cray.
