SEC Power Poll Ballot: Rebels move up

  1. Alabama - A month or so ago, I thought the idea of Derrick Henry winning the Heisman was foolish. Now I don't see how he could NOT win it.
  2. Ole Miss - Hugh Freeze showed an astounding ability to get the team back up after several horribly demoralizing defeats throughout the year.
  3. Florida - The Gators aren't really very good, but I'm putting them third anyway. #dealwithit
  4. Tennessee - The Vols have had a good year, but I imagine it's eating them up inside that they lost so many close games.
  5. LSU - LSU is so confusing.
  6. Texas A&M - It turns out that the reason Kyler Murray wasn't playing more in the early part of the season is that he's just not ready to play quarterback in college yet. Murray finishes his freshman season with 5 TDs and 7 INTs.
  7. Arkansas - The Razorbacks were two points away from finishing the season on a six game winning streak.
  8. Mississippi State - Dak Prescott is quite good, but he's not enough to make up for some of the glaring issues along both lines.
  9. Georgia - Nine may seem a little low for a team that finished 9-3. The only SEC teams Georgia beat rank below them in this list though.
  10. Auburn - Someone asked me yesterday whether I would trade Hugh Freeze for Gus Malzahn. After looking at some stuff for a long time, I decided not. Given the way I felt entering the year, that's pretty astonishing.
  11. Vanderbilt - Derek Mason's first season was hit or miss, but it's impossible to argue that the team didn't improve last offseason.
  12. South Carolina - I would have loved quotes from Spurrier had South Carolina beaten Clemson.
  13. Missouri - The next coach at Missouri will have his (or her, I guess) hands full.
  14. Kentucky - It might be time.
