The Bradley Braves had a remarkably worse Charleston Classic basketball tournament than the Ole Miss Rebels. On the opening Thursday, Bradley fell hard against Virginia, 82-57. Then they lost to Seton Hall, 67-59. Then they lost to Towson, 62-60, which earned them dead last in the field of eight. The Rebs of course dropped their Sunday tussle with Seton Hall, 75-63, to finish the tournament in sixth place, so it's altogether fitting that two members from the Charleston Classic's losers bracket should meet again so soon.
Interestingly, Ole Miss is 0-3 all time against Bradley, and this is just the hoopmen's second trip to Peoria. They last played on Dec. 28, 1994, which makes this reunion older than most of Ole Miss' roster. Bradley currently sits at No. 302 in Ken Pomeroy's most recent estimation, while the Rebs slide in at No. 86. The Braves are skittering along a five-game losing streak, while Ole Miss showed some promising ball on Wednesday in a home win against Georgia State. Let's hope that continues Saturday.
