Ole Miss vs. Louisiana-Lafayette super regional 2014: Weekend schedule and TV info

The best of three series begins Saturday and will be broadcast on ESPN2.

USA TODAY Sports

Treat it with the appropriate amount of skepticism, but the Ole Miss baseball team is two wins away from the fabled land of Omaha. Whether this will finally be the year Mike Bianco breaks through or if it will be yet another tantalizingly close flameout will depend on the Rebels' super regional matchup against Louisiana-Lafayette.

If you're wondering why the Rebs weren't playing on Friday, when a number of other super regionals were in action, it's because one half of the bracket begins a day later, on Saturday. I assume this is a TV thing, but it works in Ole Miss's favor, allowing the pitching staff to get a full week's rest after the delayed start to the Oxford regional.

The Rebs and Ragin' Cajuns will play a best of three series with an if-necessary Game 3 taking place on Monday night. All three games will be televised on ESPN2 and streamed live on WatchESPN, so you have no excuse not to tune in.
