Philip Lutzenkirchen, a former all-SEC and Auburn fan favorite at tight end, died this past weekend in a car accident in rural Georgia. At just 23 years of age, Lutzenkirchen died far too early, and will be missed dearly by Auburn and SEC football fans alike.
Our hearts are heavy at SB Nation as well, as Lutzenkirchen began contributing to our network this past year. He helped add to our network's coverage of spring practice and the NFL Draft, among other topics. It was truly wonderful to have a former SEC standout footballer contributing to the exceptional quality produced by the network's mothership, and we will miss his thoughts and perspectives dearly.
Our hearts go out to Lutzenkirchen's friends, family, and fans. RIP.
