The college baseball regular season is entering its last weekend and Ole Miss caps its campaign with a critical trip to College Station to face Texas A&M.
The weekend is important for two reasons. For starters, Ole Miss can clinch the SEC West. At 17-11 in conference, the Rebs sit one game above Mississippi State (16-11) and two games above LSU (14-11-1). The Rebs hold the tie breaker over State, effectively making it a two game lead.
It's also important for earning a national seed. Because Vanderbilt holds a considerable lead over Ole Miss in the RPI, the Rebs likely need to win in College Station and have the Commodores lose to South Carolina to overtake them for one of the open SEC national seed spots. Check our post from Thursday morning for more details on that.
Because the SEC Tournament begins next week, all conference series start on Thursday this week. Ole Miss will be on ESPNU for Saturday's Game 2, and you can follow on WatchESPN during Games 1 and 3.
