The Rebels travel to Jonesboro tonight to begin a four game road trip to finish the regular season, taking Arkansas State at 6:30 PM Central. The Sun Belt power Red Wolves enter Tuesday's game with a record of 29-22 overall and 17-10 in conference. The Rebels enter with a record of 37-15 overall and 17-10 in the SEC.
The Red Wolves currently sit at 54 in the RPI while the Rebels find themselves at 15. The Rebels are coming off of a series win at home against Georgia while the Red Wolves are coming off of a series win against Troy, and both teams are looking to bolster their resume in anticipation of NCAA postseason play. According to Perfect Game's Kendall Rodgers, the Rebels are currently holding one of those coveted top eight national seed spots. However, one would think a mid week loss to Arkansas State coupled with a series loss to Texas A&M would doom the Rebels chances in the National Seed discussion. They'll be a tough out for sure, but the Rebs will have to win if they are to prove their worthiness to the postseason powers that be.
The Rebels and Red Wolves have played each other one time this season on March 19th, with the Rebels winning that contest by a score of 4-3.
