After an impressive sweep over a decent Auburn team last weekend, the Rebels return to action Tuesday and Wednesday against Memphis and Murray State respectively. Tonight's matchup against the Tigers is an interesting one, and one that's pretty difficult for any rebel to be optimistic about. . For some reason, Ole Miss has struggled mightily against the Tigers in recent memory, losing six of the last ten contests against Memphis including a 4-1 decision earlier this year in Oxford.
The Rebels struggles in these mid-week contests have been a source of fan displeasure, particularly those against Memphis and Southern Mississippi. Memphis currently sits at 18-15 on the season after losing the series at No. 8, Louisville but boasts wins at Mississippi State and Ole Miss as well as a top-50 RPI.
Here's what to look for tonight:

Tonight, the Rebs will throw senior lefty Jeremy Massie, who has seen plenty of time in midweek action this season. Massie has a 3.16 ERA, which he has earned over five starts this year. With just a 1-2 record, Massie is either due for a win or destined to underwhelm in the midweek - your call. Memphis will throw Ryan Garner, a freshman lefty out of Dyer, Tennessee who has a 5.20 ERA and an 0-2 record over nine appearances (three starts). So he'll either give up runs by the bucket or will smother the Rebel bats until the 7th or 8th inning - your call.
Really, I know I've been kindof a sarcastic downer about this game, but what else do you expect? The Rebs rarely impress in AutoZone, even against bad Memphis teams (which this one certainly is not). They certainly can win tonight, but I wouldn't bet on it. I will, however, predict it.
Rebs 7 - Tigers 3
