Davon Godchaux, a four-star defensive end out of Plaquemine, Louisiana, has not yet sent in his letter of intent. If Twitter is to be believed, he's down to LSU and Ole Miss, but with a bit of a twist - Godchaux allegedly likes the Rebels, but his family likes the Tigers.
From the Tweet machines:
RT @HunterPaniagua: Sounds like Godchaux's announcement is going to be much closer than originally thought. Ole Miss making a strong push

OH! Davon Godchaux shuns LSU and goes with ole miss!

Godchaux's mom may not sign his LOI. The fun begins!

No, we cannot verify the accuracy of any of these tweets, but there's definitely a good deal of scuttlebutt on social media about Davon's decision and where he may end up today, if he ends up anywhere today at all. If you think this sounds familiar, then you're probably recalling signing day 2011 where Floyd Raven Jr. wanted to sign with Texas A&M, but his mother wanted him to sign with Ole Miss. Raven ended up with the Aggies.
Of course, we at the Cup know what's best for Devon (don't we?) and we must implore him to follow his heart and fax that LOI in to the Manning Center. Here's to hoping he makes the right decision, and here's to hoping that the Rebels land yet another blue-chip defensive end prospect under Coach Freeze's leadership.
EDIT: In the end, momma won.
Godchaux picks #LSU

Great pickup for LSU, and a tough one to swallow for Rebel fans.
