Ole Miss vs. Georgia State baseball weekend open thread

It's about to get rowdy at Swayze y'all.

After beginning the 2014 season on the road with a sweep of Stetson, the Ole Miss baseball team finally gets to pop things off at Swayze Field. Sure there was that midweek win over UT-Martin, but folks had stuff like class the next day. Now it's the weekend, so all hell is sure to break lose in Right Field.

The Rebs welcome Georgia State, who is 3-1 after winning an opening weekend series against Illinois and taking down Savannah State during the week.

Because we were busy doing dumb grownup stuff, we didn't have time to get a full preview together, but it's the fifth game of the season, so any numbers we give you won't mean anything anyway. Or at least that's our excuse.

Rest assured we'll be drinking and following along this weekend though. If you're lucky enough to be at the game, tweet pictures and videos of Swayze to @RedCupRebellion so we can all be jealous of you.

Game 1: Ole Miss 3, Georgia State 0

Chris Ellis was the star of the night, pitching a complete-game shutout. He gave up five hits, struck out four and didn't give a single free base. The bats didn't do much, putting together just seven hits and leaving six stranded. Four of those stranded runners were credited to Auston Bousfield, who grounded into an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third. Right Field was absolutely PACKED from first pitch to the final beer toss.

Game 2: Ole Miss 9, Georgia State 1

Georgia State - Andrew Fessler, Sr., LHP
Ole Miss - Christian Trent, So., LHP

Game 3: Sunday, 1:30 p.m. CT

Georgia State - Matt Rose, So. RHP
Ole Miss - Sam Smith, Jr., RHP
