College baseball is back in Oxford! The Ole Miss Rebels will face the UT Martin Skyhawks (as opposed to the...Land-hawks?) this afternoon, starting the home season with a characteristically blase midweek game.
The game will begin at 4:00 PM Central, and will be available online through RebelVision. You can also listen to it on your friendly local Ole Miss Baseball Network affiliate.
The Skyhawks will be throwing Jackson Zurabin against the Rebels. Zurabin is a right handed junior who will be making his first start for Tennessee Martin, as he transferred into the program this season from Ohlone College in Fremont, Califormia. There, he totaled 66.1 innings over 18 appearances during his Junior College career. He started 10 games last season, going 3-5 with a 5.60 ERA... in junior college.
Still, Ohlone is a good junior college program, so he won't exactly be a pushover for the Rebel bats.
Sophomore righty Jacob Waguespack will get the start for Ole Miss tonight. He's notched a single inning's worth of work on this young season thus far in relief against Stetson, facing just four batters. He gave up one hit and struck out another, so who knows what in the hell he's capable of.
