After suffering nearly a 20-point loss to Tennessee in Knoxville, the Ole Miss Rebels (14-6, 5-2 SEC) return to the friendly confines of the Tad Pad to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks (8-12, 1-6 SEC) in a game which should be as winnable an SEC contest as the Rebels will have all season.

In the Southeastern Conference, The Gamecocks are 9th in points per game (71.3), 11th in rebounds per game (35), 11th in blocks per game (3.8), and have the second-lowest assist/turnover ratio (0.88). They're, simply put, not a good basketball team, but they did provide a pretty good challenge to our Rebs when we visited Columbia earlier this season, where a narrow overtime victory kept Ole Miss from having an RPI situation far grimmer than the one they already possess.

In that game, Anthony Perez poured in 22 points, as the Rebels rode a very strong 48-37 second half to overtime and a win. This came shortly after the Red Cup commentariat seriously questioned his value to the team and program. So thattaway to light a fire under his ass, y'all.

In this game, the Rebels should be able to cruise on their defense to another win over South Carolina. If Marshall Henderson and Jarvis Summers can score from outside - something they've done well lately - and spread Carolina thin on defense, then this one's a no-brainer. If they can't, and we're in a situation where we're relying on the rebounding of Demarco Cox, Sebastian Saiz, and Aaron Jones to pull this one out, then we could be in for another nailbiter.
