2014 college football bowl games: Saturday schedule and open thread

Steve Spurrier's gonna find the best strip club in Shreveport.

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Hey, hey! An SEC team playing a bowl game!

South Carolina is the first of the conference to get into the bowl action, kicking off Saturday afternoon in Shreveport against Miami. Yea, the Independence bowl. Remember when the Gamecocks were a playoff contender? That lasted all of a quarter before Kenny Trill started racking up frequent flier miles.

Remember when we thought Kenny Hill was good? But I digress.

If nothing else, this bowl has made for some lively press conferences. On Friday, the Head Ball Coach set time aside to make sure everyone knew that Jeremy Shockey misquoted him in The U Part 2 and that he never said Miami had kicked his Florida team's ass in a Bourbon Street brawl the week before the 2001 Sugar Bowl. But if you expect me to believe that Spurrier remembers anything from a week in New Orleans, you're drunk yourself.

Also, an important reminder that the mother of Miami's quarterback is the Bye, Felecia girl from Friday.

Anyway, here are the schedule and TV info for Saturday.
