Between the management transition, the football excitement and the fact that we lost to Charleston Southern (CHARLESTON SOUTHERN!) in the season opener, Rebel hoops has been on the back burner around here recently. But we're getting back on the horse.
Ole Miss (6-3) hosts Coastal Carolina on Thursday night, the Rebs' first time back on the floor since blowing a 16-point second-half lead at home against Western Kentucky last Saturday. Losing in Oxford has become a theme for this team: they're 2-3 at the Tad Pad. On the road, however, they're a perfect 3-0 with wins over then-No. 23 Creighton and Oregon.

Coastal comes in at 8-2, their two losses coming from UCLA and Chattanooga. They've already beaten an SEC team this season, but that was Bruce Pearl's awful Auburn squad.
Coastal's nickname is the Chanticleers, which you may or may not know is a type of rooster. When I was little I thought they were the Chandeliers, which I think would make for a pretty hilarious mascot.
