It was a vicious, low-scoring affair that dragged out all the way to the damn buzzer as the No. 3 Ole Miss Rebels fell to the No. 24 LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge tonight by a score of just 10-7. The game was marked by poor, inconsistent play on offense by both teams who failed to capitalize on opportunities throughout the evening.
For Ole Miss, the lack of a power offense and a banged up offensive line - one that was already unreliable - proved too much to overcome, as did Bo Wallace's less-than-ideal play at quarterback (14-33 for 176 yards, one score and one game-sealing pick). For LSU, things were made difficult by an Ole Miss defense that has been stingy as hell all year. The Landsharks proved to be just that, allowing just ten points on offense and a forcing four turnovers on the night. Ole Miss' offense, however, couldn't capitalize on an LSU defense that was just as tenacious and impressive.
There are a lot of #hottakes one can have regarding this game, and by golly we've got 'em. We just don't have the time or energy for them right now. Stay tuned though as we will have plenty of analysis and opinions on both the Ole Miss loss and the Rebels' chances moving forward for the remainder of the season this week, so make sure to keep us a part of your regular internetin' for the next few days in order to take it all in.
