The Rebs are Still on top of our SEC Power Poll Ballot

Even with our biases, it's not that crazy of a proposition.

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

After eight weeks of college football, here's how we're ranking the Southeastern Conference from top to bottom. As always, feel free to do some rankings of your own in the comments thread.

  1. Ole Miss Rebels - Does anyone doubt that the Rebels have the best defense in college football? Does anyone then doubt that Ole Miss has just enough offense to keep themselves comfortably competitive?
  2. Mississippi St. Bulldogs - State's offensive prowess makes them arguably the most complete team in college football outside of maybe Florida St--- okay, I couldn't even finish that sentence.
  3. Alabama Crimson Tide - Nick Saban's hoping to win over the College Football Playoff committee with style points and, frankly, I'm one to think he'll succeed in that endeavor.
  4. Auburn Tigers - Auburn's the SEC West's dark horse. They've got the offensive skill and just enough defense to keep things interesting for the rest of the season.
  5. Georgia Bulldogs - The Bulldogs are the SEC Championship's dark horse, and really the dark horse to make the playoff.
  6. LSU Tigers - LSU only attempted 13 passes against Kentucky and dominated behind a 303 yard rushing performance. I'd love to see them try that strategy against Ole Miss.
  7. Texas A&M Aggies - Remember when everybody was all like "wow they beat the crap out of South Carolina!" First week opinions are great, y'all.
  8. Arkansas Razorbacks - I'm not counting them out of any game right now, and am legitimately thinking they'll beat Mizzou and maybe LSU. They score enough to keep things tight.
  9. Missouri Tigers - Wanna see a hilarious box score? Here you go!
  10. Kentucky Wildcats - It was wishful thinking on the part of Ole Miss fans to think that the Wildcats were going to make it a game against LSU last weekend (or will make it a game against State this weekend).
  11. South Carolina Gamecocks - Steve Spurrier hates this team right now.
  12. Tennessee Volunteers - They're basically Ole Miss under Joe Lee Dunn right now.
  13. Florida Gators - Will Muschamp is so fired. He's like Houston Nutt after losing to Kentucky fired right now.
  14. Vanderbilt Commodores - Oh, you're still here? Uh... /walksawayslowly
