Here's the good news: ESPN2 will be broadcasting Ole Miss's SEC opener against Auburn on Thursday night, so you'll actually be able to watch it. The bad news: the Rebels lost their fourth game of the season last Saturday against Dayton, so you probably don't want to watch it.
Further devaluing this game's watchability is the absence of Marshall Henderson, who will serve the second and third games of his split suspension this week (he'll miss Saturday's game at State, because of course). If you'll remember, he went FULL MARSHALL on the road at Auburn last season, and I for one was looking forward to the trolling techniques he would employ this time around.
That being said, I don't think something as insignificant as 'not being on the court' is going to keep Marshall from finding a way to troll Auburn tonight. Here are some things he probably has planned:
- Wearing a Jemeis Winston jersey on the bench.
- Calling Gus Malzhan and leaving the same voice mail over and over: "34-31, bitch."
- TP'ing the Auburn bus during halftime and spray painting "Marshall's Corner" across the side.
- Tweeting poorly Photoshopped pictures of he and Cam Newton blowing lines with Charles Barkley.
Auburn's a solid 8-3 coming into this one and should give the Rebels a serious test in their first conference game. Speaking of opening SEC play, here's a fun fact for you: Ole Miss is opening conference play at home for just the fourth time in the past 16 seasons.
[Insert 'SEC hates us' conspiracy theories here]
