Ole Miss freshman Bobby Hill, a cornerback from Colquitt County Georgia, was arrested on Tuesday by the Oxford Police Department for sexual battery. He was held at the Lafayette County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond. The incident is alleged to have happened this past weekend at a house off-campus.
Sexual battery is a felony charge, which has serious implications for the legal future of Bobby Hill if he is indeed convicted. As for now, he is suspended indefinitely from the Ole Miss football team; per a Hugh Freeze statement:
Bobby has been indefinitely suspended from all football activities while the process moves forward. We take this very seriously and will make decisions once the course of action is complete
Obviously, this is a pretty big deal. Of course, we believe in a justice system where every person is innocent until proven guilty, but just knowing that these sorts of accusations are being lobbied against our team's players can really disturb us fans. It's tough to swallow.
